I'm hoping this is the best spot for this cuz I feel I just need to sound off a bit! I am one month out from step 1 and things have been pretty good. My only complaint is that i am having extreme vaginal dryness which is causing severe discomfort and itching. I treated for a yeast infection and found out after that it was just dryness from the Dr. examination. It gets better for a day or two and then gets worse again.
The other problem is that my husband has been wonderful through all of this and I feel closer to him than ever! We had physical intercourse once about a week and a half ago and it was very painful for me. We attempted it again last night and it was even worse! I couldn't even let him do much I was soooo sore! Now today i am bleeding...I wasn't due to start my period for over a week yet so not sure if that is what it is or not. Everything down there is swollen and very tender. It is also raw pretty much....going to the bathroom even is extremely painful....I am using only water to clean myself as even soft toilet paper feels like saandpaper right now.....Please tell me this gets better! I have gotten vaginal moisture replacement that my Dr. recommended but not sure it is enough...any advice would be very appreciated! Last night was hoorible and I got so upset and frustrated that i just layed in my husbands arms and cried for about an hour after our "attempt" before I finally fell asleep.... Sorry to ramble I guess I am just feeling frustrated! Tiffany Chamberlain-Post |

Hi Tiff,
Yes, it gets better. Much better but it takes a bit of time too. You are still very swollen, your hormones are in a rumble from your illness, surgeries, drugs etc and you are scrambled and sore down there too...There is no real calendar for 'the right time to start sex' but it is a safe bet that in your case it is still too soon...Lube is important, very important...so is taking it slow, doing 'other things', tenderness and starting from scratch. Your body is new, and has to be relearned. Things have been shaken, not stirred and are not all settled back into their places yet (if ever)...Sometimes things remain 'different' or get 'better' because we are no longer sick and can finally relax and feel pleasure (relaxing being the operative word!)...you may wish to try out new, less stressful positons that put less pressure on your tender zones. (using pillows to support your pelvis) (bath tubs or hot tubs if you have got them can be good just remember to hang on to the sides!)...mostly you need to let nature take its course and allow your body to heal. Sex is no fun if you are hurting and I know that my hubby refused to have 'sympathy sex'. He waited because he couldn't stand the thought of my suffering through it all...(things are much better now!) Playing games help too...it takes the stress off and gives you an excuse to laugh if it doesn't all work out.. Sharon It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here.... |

Yes, I definitley had the dry, itchiness going on about 6 weeks out. Mine probably was a yeast infection from the antibiotics. It wasn't excruciating so I just dealt with it and it got better from the probiotics I think. Give it some more time. I think your best bet right now is doing what you're doing. Stick with water to rinse to avoid rubbing. Also, even if it's not a yeast infection, some of those ointments are very soothing. I don't think it can hurt you to use it sparingly even if you don't have it. Otherwise, if you are using something for butt burn, that can't hurt to put there either.
