I wanted to start a thread with some hints and tips when staying at the Guesthouse in Cleveland Clinic. I've stayed there 3 times in the last 18 months. I found a website called DeliverMeFood.com.
Of course I didn't find it until our last night there. The Chicago Deli is right on site and their food is amazing, but 3 meals a day for a week gets old even for there. We tried Cedarland, very good, but not good for post-op because lots of fresh veggies=high output. So, back to the point, Deliver me food lists all kinds of restaurants that will deliver to the campus. You choose your restaurant, then choose your menu items, put them in your virtual cart, checkout, pay, and they'll deliver right to your room. We tried Guarino's Italian Restaurant. Great food and in about 35 minutes, and still hot! Anyone with some hints, please add ✫annie✫ Cuffitis, PVF, Pouchitis, umbilical hernia, type 3&4 adhesions. JPouch re-do & ileo, hernia repair, mucosectomy in CC on 9/12/07. Take-down 04/02/08 |

Thanks so much, Annie! We'll be staying at the Guesthouse in a few weeks, and really appreciate your tips.
Who is your surgeon? and were your happy with him/her? |

Actually, the cafeteria has excellent food. International. Subway, McDonald's, Starbux, mexican, italian, salad bar, smoothie bar and it is very inexpensive.
PM me if you want a real big food tip. can't tell the world this one!i also took the bus, all day pass is a dollar, to checkers, burger king, and a strip mall and grocery store and kfc when chris had a craving.the shuttle takes you to the intercontinental suites and you can walk if you so choose during the day. the au bonne in the clinic is wonderful and the best kept secret, the founders room, dining is great and again not expensive like the deli. |

I wasn't at the Clinic for my surgeries, but used to live in Cleveland Heights (about ten minutes from the clinic) for three years. Looking at Annie's choice of restaurants, in my opinion, I'd say you can't go wrong with the following unless quality has changed significantly:
Guarino's (as previously mentioned) The Inn on Coventry (especially breakfast) Your's Truly (especially breakfast/lunch) Aladdin's Panini's (for their "overstuffed" sandwiches) I'm sure many of the others are quite delicious too, but I'm only speaking from personal experience. |

Oh boy, here's a topic that I love. My husband and I have been to the clinic about 10 times through pre and post appointments and check-ups for 2 surgeries.
Our VERY favorite restaurant is La Dolce Vita, on a corner in Little Italy. The very nice people at International Suites will actually drive one there and then, in response to a cell phone call, pick one up after a delightful dinner (for no charge, but we do offer a little tip). They make lots of stuff that's almost divine and that doesn't have a lot of roughage. If the weather is mild, one can sit outside at a table on the sidewalk where they serve wine in coffee cups to comply with the local laws. The restaurant is so great, at least to what is available here in Virginia, that I almost enjoy a trip to Cleveland (not quite, but almost!). p.s. all the restaurants in Little Italy are good, and we've tried several, but La Dolce Vita is the best. |
