My mom called and left me a message yesterday from the hospital, (she had knee replacement done on Tuesday). Anyway...she said "call me back...you are not going to believe who is in the bed next to me!" It turns out it was gal I went to highschool with. Today my mom moved to an aftercare facility. I asked how Ruth was when she left yesterday? She said she thought she might be a hypocondriac. Boy...did she have a lot of things wrong with her! And does she know medications! I said "Mother...If I told anyone all things wrong me...they would say the same thing about me!" Too funny!

Have a fabulous day!

Everyone thought I was such a crazy hypochondriac nutball...until I got diagnosed with everything I thought I had Razzer Now they take me seriously. But, I don't blame them, how many 17 year olds have kidney stones, arthritis, colitis, bacterial overgrowth, abscesses, fissues, cuffitis...the list goes on. Sometimes I think I'm a 17 year old in an 80 year old's body.

Although, one time I did think I had AIDs. But, I was just grasping at straws, really. Razzer

haha, before my diagnosis, I saw like 5 doctors. They all said the same thing- "You're probably just overstating minor problems you're having... Why don't you just relax, there's nothing wrong with you"...

They even sent me to a psychiatrist! He was like "You need to stop believing you're sick.. You're probably perfectly healthy and just imagining that you're having all of these symptoms.. You're just afraid of being sick"... What the hell?? haha

When I had pericarditis (inflammation of the sac around the heart), I could barely breathe.. They sent me to a psychiatrist for that too.. They said it was panic attacks (I even got a copy of the Panic Attacks Workbook to fill out).. I had no medicine, and couldn't even sleep lying down because I could hardly breathe... After a week I saw a cardiologist and it got diagnosed as pericarditis.. Some medicine cleared it up fast..

Looking back, those experiences were almost comical.. The word hypochondriac always makes me laugh now

It really is amazing how one person can have so many things wrong with them. I wonder how many of us just have p-pouch ssues and nothing else? Might be a good poll question...

Sugar Jay,
I can really identify. I know that i tend to have panic attacks, but I get so pissed off when docs think every problem is due to them. The best occurred when i reacted badly to Cipro last summer/fall. It took a month before the GI doc realized/ agreed it was the Cipro and not just my annoying brain that was causing the tingling and brain wierdness. Smiler
