Well I just got back from a 10 day road trip and good news...no incident! NO leaks, no pain, no disasters!
I did some diet modification (cut out fresh fruits and veggies other than very tiny salads and tomatoes) and behaviour modification (no twisting movements, no lifting etc...) and I did tons of exercise in the pool. Hours of light swimming and gentle aquagym on floats. My muscle tone is better in my abs and I seem to be supporting my pelvic floor better too (hubby says yeah!)...I did eat tons more carbs than usual to keep my k pouch from having to be emptied every hour or two..I even managed to go 250km without a pit stop at a time...once in the morning before take off, once before and after lunch and then once at destination...hubby thought that I was on drugs!
I also cut my intake down to very, very small quantities at a time..I ate less than 3ozs. of fish per meal and the same amount of greens and carbs. Tiny amounts of desserts too. (French portions help..they don't serve you more even if you want it!)and hubby was around to survey my snacking on a constant basis.
So, I won't say it was easy or stress free but I did.
Chalk one up for almost normal.
Sharon

Sounds like you had a great trip with few problems.

Just getting ready to spend 2 weeks at the cottage with two of our grandchildren Boy 3 & Girl 5. It should be a hectic time but looking forward to it.

Control wise, I am pretty good except when I start doing heavy work then I sometimes feel like I'm back to pre surgery days - no fun.

Anyway great to hear you seem to be doing well.

Regards

Lew

Just remember to lift those grandkids one at a time!
And no chopping wood either...hide and seek should be your favorite sport...and no log rolls either! Big Grin
Have a great time...enjoy

Sharon!!! I'm so happy to hear that you are doing so well! Last summer was just agony for you and I'm so thrilled to hear that you were able to go on vacation with your husband and enjoy it pain free. You deserve it especially since you had a miserable time last year.

Good for you!!

Take Care!
Susan

Thank you so much Susan...did I ever mention that I still keep the bunny by my bedside? It is my goodluck charm. The kids have pulled its ear off but I love it. Reminds me of the bad times and the good friends who got me through them.
How r u doing?
Sharon

Hi Sharon...I'm well. The economy still takes it's toll on us. My husband's job is still in question after two years of uncertainty. I am now about to start my second job...believe it or not I'm going to be a lunch lady. Thankfully, they have gotten rid of the hairnets. Smiler! I love the ladies I'm going to work with and I only work from 9-1 and get all the days off that the kids do. It's actually great!

I'm just so darn happy that you are well. Keep it that way!! Smiler

Love
Susan
