Well I went up to CC the Sunday night, did my pre-op all day Monday, got up and was at the Surgery Center by 8 a.m. on Tuesday. I waited, waited, and waited. When I went up to check, it seemed that Dr. Remzi's first patient had not even gone back yet. Long story short...Dr. Remzi had a personal emergency and had to cancel for that day, and now I am rescheduled for October 4. My sister was here with me from SC and we had to deal with an early flight home and reschedule that with all the fees associated with that kind of thing, rebook the hotel reservations, and so forth. Then I already had a long term sub lined up at work...so do I go in to work for 4 days and then be off..or just stay off. What an inconvenience! I was hoping to be on the road to recovery by now and not having to deal with this. I felt badly for Dr. Remzi..he is human and things happen...but ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a let down. It's so hard when you travel for medical services. I vote for staying home till surgery and regrouping.
I had a procedure scheduled a few years ago. Did the prep the day before and was mentally ready. The doctor called me late the night before to tell me he had a personal emergency and his office would call to reschedule. I waited 2 months for the procedure.
Will be thinking if you on October 4 and know that you are in good hands with Dr. Remzi. In the meantime go eat your favorite foods.

Consider yourself lucky to be getting it done. Speaking through my own personal experience, I had my subtotal colectomy and had to wait a whole year to have my reversal. It's been 7 years though and not one problem to date since I've left the hospital for that last time. Keep your head up and know that everything is gonna be fine.
