Sunday was 9 years - yes that is NINE years - since my j-pouch surgery.

Today is 4 years since my pouch was removed.

Off to the New England Aquarium to celebrate with my boys - my wonderful darling husband without whom I would not have survived and my little angel Alex who has made all that pain and suffering seem worlds away. (We're going to the aquarium because Alex's first word was "fish" and he says it all day long - finds fish pictures everywhere, even the supermarket!)

So much has happened in the past 9 1/2 years since I was dx with UC...some of it truly horrible and some of it more wonderful than I could ever express. At this time of year I'm reminded that no matter how bad things seem, no matter how much pain and suffering you are going through, it can get better and life can and does go on...

Jill,

Such wonderful news! It is always great to hear all the success stories out there, helps me know that there is hope and light at the end of my tunnel Smiler

have a terrific day celebrating your life with your family, I think for many of us we wouldn't be here today if it hadn't been for the support, love and understanding that they have shown us in all that we have gone through.

I can't believe it's been four years since pouch removal. Wow - time flies, doesn't it?

However, on a negative note Roll Eyes - just why isn't there an Alex photo attached to this post? Or are you waiting for that Alex/Fish photo for our viewing pleasure? We haven't seen him in a bit you know.

I'm so, so glad you're the poster gal for pouch removal! And that you still hang around with us pouchies. I'm pretty sure I'm speaking for everyone when I say that.

Happy anniversary!!!!

Jill, Happy Anniversary. I am so happy that things have worked out for you. You're so right, life has some bumps along the way, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm so glad you found yours.

Good for you! We, too, are so glad you're the poster girl for pouch removal, seeing that without your posts and Shell's, Paul most likely wouldn't be doing as well as he is today. It was so helpful to find someone his age to understand what he's been through with his decision to go to the end ileostomy. All the best to you and your "boys"!

You really are the poster girl for "life-after-pouch-removal" and Alex is testiment to that. No wonder you are so happy and proud! Who wouldn't be with a little heartbreaker like Alex to show for all your effort? Smiler

Thanks for posting the pic, like Kathy said, they are far too few and far between! Wink
