I still can't believe it - it will be 3 weeks tomorrow that I started the digestive enzymes that you so highly suggested. Even though I'm afraid to say anything, I'm going to anyway. I have literally had two cases of butt burn in 3 weeks - unheard of for me - once after I ate the hottest diablo sauce that I've ever had in my life, (my lips were burning like crazy, so why not my tuss), and the other time was after eating ice cream and VERY sweet cookies AFTER I took the enzymes. So, thank you, thank you, thank you...I just pray that it continues - I feel almost human again - oh, yes, I've had NO day or night time leakage either - MAGIC!!! Smiler

Magic30, nice to see you back on. The digestive enzimes I went on are one thing that's working well for me. I got a different brand at my Chiropractor's office as it appeared comarable to what you described.

Also you were right I was not anemic just low on Iron.....And I finally got to quit taking the Iron - which affects the stool management. I think that's what I am now a "Stool Manager" and I'd grade me a C.

Swear that I'll never jump the gun and say anything about how good I feel because whenever I do it comes back to me and bites me in the you know where!!! The gas pains returned last night with full vengeance - don't even want to talk about it, however it's still working in other areas, so will continue. Am wondering if it's something else and has nothing to do with my pouch....anyway....yes, headphones, I got them at GNC - wishing you luck and please let me know how they work out for you. Frowner

Mema1 - I know what you mean, everything can change overnight. The enzimes seem to help but it's frustrating. Just when you think you have something figured something else happens

Magic30 - I have an appt with my surgeon Friday. I think I have pouchitis and talked to his nurse. She called back and said he thinks it sounds like something's inflamed. I just want the pain to go away! I missed your posts and hope you are feling well.

I'm not sure about the enzymes anymore - I had some leakage for a few nights, so was disappointed....still very little butt burn, so I'll keep using them for now - as far as the gas pains go, I think I have a stricture and have made an appointment with the surgeon to see me at the end of July. I have the feeling that the stricture is causing the gas pains since it's difficult for me to go at times and the pains do not go away until I have emptied as much as possible and that's with a lot of pushing. Pepto Bismol, however, makes it easier for me to empty my pouch - I was taking one every other night and have started to take them every night instead - funny, it works differently on me as it makes me go more - so, I seem to have less gas but lots and lots of movements. Wonder if PB works the same way on other people - would love to hear if it does.

Yes, Toughenough - these pouches do have minds of their own - what works one day doesn't the next....jut have to keep trying I guess...sorry to hear that you think that you might have pouchitis - hope your appointment with the doc went well and you feel better soon. Smiler

I've just taken a PB pill the last few days for nausea. Does it help something else too?

My doctor's appointment is Friday, man it's hard to get into those surgeons. Sorry you have to wait until July Mema1! (I hope it's not so bad that you have to take pain medication like I am.)

Thanks

I've been taking Pepto Bismol for over a year now. Put Pepto Bismol in the "Find" section and read all the things that pop up....as far as the pain goes, I've lived for over 10 years with my pouch with numerous problems - what's another month! Hope you feel better!!!

sorry to hear about the pouchitis toughenough. Frowner

Mema--hope you get some answeres. Gas pains are a real pain! Do you walk or do other gentle exercise...that helps get things moving too.

I still take the enzymes and will continue because that in combo with the metamucile---I just like the stool consistancy better.

I'm feeling well. Probably why I'm not on here. ANd a lot of the posts either don't pertain to me OR they've been asked a hundred times before and I felt like I was being redundant in posting answers back. But I still check the boards periodically.

I've been searching a lot and finding answers, vs asking. I'm glad you are feeling better!
