that's exciting! i hope you have a great time and can do everything that you want Smiler
don't forget to drink lots of fluids, as airplanes/airports and fun times can lead to dehydration. Lol. let us know how it goes!

I'll walk this winding road into the great unknown.

Hey Deedeeh,
Sounds like you are ready to jump back into life again as well. PAris must have been great and I am sure you ll be ok by the time you go back to Auz.
I had been out walking on the beach and around the city later for about 6 hours without a singlr bathroom trip. ^Probabaly as I had not eaten or drank anything except sipped water . The only thing is my leg muscles have almost ceased up now so no clubbling , early night and start earler tomorrow,,still lots to see and do here.
I indeed feel normal again¨Smiler

Martiangirl, congrats! Good on you, j-pouch!! I'm going to Athens next week and hoping mine behaves, too. It's things like this that really make you realise how lucky we are to have a j-pouch that works.

I am green with envy of all the Europeans ability to travel so easily to so many other countries.
We get to go to other states and they just don't hold a candle to Paris, Greece, London, Norway, etc
I am so happy to hear that you are all taking these trips and enjoying life.
Each day really is a gift.

That has been my feeling since I got rid of my useless colon and had it dumped in the nearest landfill. Roll Eyes
Doesn't matter if I had the ostomy or pouch...life has been so much better. Just to be able to go out and live life instead of being chained to the toilet is priceless Big Grin
Hope you have a blast on the rest of your trip.

Hi guys,
I arrived back on Tuesday morning ..almost felt like a rite of passage. I walked for 6-9 hours solid every day and went on to do more dancing in clubs. One night I had thrown caution to the wind and had some champaigne in the park as part of a picnic in Parc Gouel high up in the City enjoying the view, half a jug of Sangria later with some tappas, gin and tonic and beer (not toghether!)in the bar with some seafood salad ..what a combination!,,paid with but burn but knew i could deal with it as it would heal overnight. Didnt stop me dancing the night away.
Plane journey home was ok too.
On another note , yesterday I met Linda aka Winter Wish and we had a lovely coffee and cakes in LOndon in Selfridges as she was here for a consult with our surgeon. Its soo nice to meet people of this website!
Anyway,,best wishes to all and my message is life can get back to normal after pouchSmiler

Athens was fab! My pouch behaved impeccably, though true to form, I do think I have tested every single available toilet in the city!! Loos in Greece are...challenging. But all honour to Athens - after they gave the city a face lift for the 2004 Olympics, the facilities are SO much better than they were last time I was there 11 years ago. Clean, well-equipped loos absolutely everywhere and drinking fountains all over the place. Perfect for us with dodgy plumbing and a constant threat of dehydration. So anyone planning a trip to Europe: don't let your pouches/ostomies put you off going here. It's an amazing place Smiler
