When I was hospitalized a few months ago, my favorite band came to town, and I had to miss it (which totally sucked!)... But tonight they came back, and thanks to step one of my reconstructive (knock on wood) process, I was finally able to get back out there and attend!

Such a blast. It was the Arctic Monkeys concert (probably not a huge following on these boards), but nevertheless; I had SUCH an awesome time. I never would have been able to picture myself attending a few months ago, so it's a great feeling to avenge the concert I missed earlier.. Can't wait til the next one!

Hi Jay,

I'm so glad that you are healthy enough now to do all the things you love to do. Smiler I may be old and live on the other side of the Pond but even I have heard of (and quite like) the Arctic Monkeys. Big Grin

Keep up the good work and good luck for step two. Smiler

Cool Shell Cool

Very cool, glad to hear you are back on track. I never dared to go out to a concert when I had all my J-Pouch problems. But since I had a temp loop-ileo done last year I've seen Tool three times! And I'm off to see a few more bands this Fall.

Feels very good to be able to enjoy life without being chained to a bathroom!

I think the fact that you can now go to concerts is fabulous! I go to a show almost every weekend. It's nice, because they're always at little venues with people that I know. And, when the band is playing, you can't hear a thing from the bathroom so I'm always comfortable Smiler

Good luck on your recovery, and I hope you get to go to tons of more shows!

Thanks everyone! I had such a blast! It's awesome to see that there are lots of people able to attend concerts again, and have a normal life after we've been through such a rough ride. To many more!

The Arctic Monkeys would awesome to see live! I'm glad you finally got to see them.

I was always too scared to see a band when I had UC, but I've seen three since surgery. The really big venues are still a little intimidating, but I should be brave and give them ago. Maybe when the Arctic Monkeys head down my way. Smiler

Got another concert under my ostomy belt, saw Smashing Pumpkins last week. Not all the original members but a very good show in a small venue. They play a good amount of their early stuff (that old guys like me remember...).

I know how you feel to be able to go out and do things that we weren't able to do for a long...Its awesome. It has been three and a half years since step one and two and a half years since takedown, and I can still remember my first movie, my first time going out to eat, my first concert, etc.

Since those early days I have gone to many concerts...the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, Velvet Revolver, Papa Roach, Buck Cherry, Sevendust, Chevelle, Chris Daughtry, Saliva, Three Days Grace, to name a few...

I have decided that I wasted so much of my life trying to save my diseased colon. Now that I am well, I have decided that I am not going to miss out on things I enjoy...I am going to live life to the fullest. I'm so happy to hear you are doing well enough to do the same...life is too short. Razzer
