Because I figure we could use this type of thread at times... feel free to add on!

Okay, so right now, it's corn on the cob season. Yes, I know. I've had problems with it in the past and swore I would never eat it again, but I keep going back to it. I love it, and generally seem to be able to tolerate most foods these days, so I figured why not. I guess my eyes are bigger than my stomach, or at least the j-pouch for that matter.

Anyway, I had one smallish ear of corn with dinner last night. Today, been feeling okay (no cramps, etc) but the corn just keeps on coming out. I keep thinking there can't possibly be any more... but off I go to the BR again. This happens every time I eat it. Way more seems to come out than goes in. Does it multiply in there or something? *LOL* Geez.

Had the same problem with tangerines/manderins, got completely blocked and couldn't keep off the loo, just pain and cramps for hours then it was like the pith stuff had collected in a 'fur ball', I keep swearing off them but love them so much I can't keep away so spend AGES removing every last hint of pith, kinda takes the enjoyment away!! I love grapefruits and oranges...they of course do not love me. Tried to go back on my grapefruit diet and almost died. NOt good for a k pouch...I also have the exact same problem with green salad and especially romain lettuce...seems to build a root ball in there and I cannot extract it from the pouch (especially through a tube the size of a straw!)...the only food groups that like my pouch are protiens and chocolate!

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

Spooky

Have often wondered the same thing LOL!

But I keep on eating it - love my corn and prepared to pay the price!

Same thing happens with peas for me. I think one planted in my pouch at one point and keeps spitting them out as they grow!

Tomatoes are in season and all over my husband's plants - I have to eat them or his feelings would be hurt - right? I use to peel all the skin off and squeeze out all of the seeds, when I had UC, but thought I could probably have a few slices now.

Strange, like the corn and all. I had emptied my pouch several times and then it seemed like half a day I kept spurting out bits of tomatoe skins. Where did they all come from? It was freaky but didn't hurt - just amazing how my revamped plumbing passed eveything and saved these for their individual passing.

I peeled the tomatoes tonight. It didn't take that much time....

Corn on the cob and popcorn are definitely worth the price.

toughenough, my garden is full of tomatoes right now too. I've got a ton this year so we're always finding creative ways to use them up (or give them to family). Funny, with me, I don't seem to have a problem with raw tomatoes. However, if cooked, such as in a stirfry, on pizza or roasted in the oven, the cooked skins cause problems. If cooked tomatoes are on the menu, I always spend part of my meal peeling them off.

It goes against logic doesn't it Spooky? Yesterday I blanced and peeled a big pile of tomatoes. Put in 2 batches in my super duper blender and made tomatoe juice which I cooked down into a sauce, whew. No problems with eating the sauce but it sure was a lot of work. It's a lot easier to open a big can of crushed tomatoes or tomatoe sauce.
