Hi everyone, I'm home today from my surgery last wed. All went well, he constructed the j-pouch and reconnected me. I'm not using the bathroom often, but I'm not eating much. My appetite has not returned yet. Overall I feel okay. Im really tired. I hope all goes well for me and my hair stops falling out soon!!! Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers, I'll keep you all posted!!

Hi Jillian,

Glad to hear you are doing so well. So they constructed the j-pouch and hooked you back up all in one surgery? That is what surgeons plan to do for me two months from now (if all goes well). Do you mind if I ask how long you were in hospital for? How has recovery been for you? How long were you kept off solid food?

Good luck to you.

Redheadedmama- they did construct me and reconnect at the same time, however, it was based on how everything went during surgery. I got lucky!!! I was in the hospital for a week. I didn't eat solid foods for about a week also. My appetite, as of now, isn't wonderful, but was the same way after my other surgeries. So I know that will get better with time. Recovery so far has been okay, I'm just tired and weak. But much better than step one, which was emergency surgery for me. My hair is my biggest problem, most of it has fallen out- i'm debating on shaving it and started over. But, I'm definitely happy that I chose to go for it. My surgeon gave me the option of trying to do it at once or within six weeks of each other.
Do what's best for you, but I would go for it! Good luck to you- let me know how it goes. I'll keep you posted on my recovery the next week!!
