I had another peri-anal abscess! My last one was horrific, I had that in 2004, this one however was different.
Firstly the pain wasn't so bad, I mean it still felt like I had a golf ball attached to butt! I went to see a doctor on Friday afternoon, he had a look at it and with my history sent me to the local hospital. Eventually (after a 3 1/2hr wait to get a bed!) after waiting about 4 hrs the surgeon came round to see me and said yes we will operate, so 11:30pm Frisday night I got wheeled down to theatre, I did ask if they could do a bit of liposuction while I was under but they declined! Anyway I got discharged yesterday, have a gaping hole where the abscess was, its meant to be packed, but because its in a awarked place it comes out each time I have a BM, so I have some little dressing to cover it what the hospital gave me, just to cover it until I get to a nurse the next day. They also said while I was under they had a look at my pouch, they said there was some tightening of where the pouch is connected, scar tissue or something, may need a dilation. This couldn't have come a worse time, hubby just back from Iraq, and we are moving in 5 weeks to Cyprus! Jolene |

Hi Jolene Duckie!
I'm so sorry that you have this to contend with so close to your move to Cyprus. At least you have Dave back home to look after you though. Maybe the abcess wound will have had time to heal before you go? The dilation shouldn't be too traumatic, but having said that I don't know how close your abscess is to your back passage, that could cause a problem. Has your doctor said when he will be likely to do the dilation? I hope you feel better soon Jolene. You never seem to catch a break. Take care and say hi to Dave for me. Luv & Hugs One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |
