Barium. I abhor it. Not only does it make me want to just crawl up into a ball while throwing up, it takes me back to all the childhood memories of the docs making me drink the nasty favors for tests when they were first diagnosing me.

Yesterday, I went to pick it up for today's ct scan. I told the radiologist handing me the bottles, "I just can't do it. I must have some mental block to it cause the thought of putting it to my lips alone makes me want to vomit.". The radiologist chuckled and said, "truly, we all have a block to this crap!"

Ugh. You should have seen me this morning literally pacing my kitchen trying to come up with games in my mind to get through drinking the two bottles. Ugh. Now I'm just feeling gross, nauseaus, and disgusting.

I liked barium, it was the only thing that could stop my diarrhea and give me a break for a day. However, I don't miss it Roll Eyes

What I hated more than anything was magnesium citrate and the other colon cleansing products. That was my gag-reaction and I'm glad I'll never meet a bottle of that again.

Good luck with the procedure and treat yourself to something nice afterwards for going through with it.

Ugg.........nasty stuff. Last year when I had to have a small bowel follow thru when no one was looking I spilled half a bottle down the sink.
