I just finished watching The Secret. The Secret
I am hoping to read the book soon but the DVD is great itself. It includes things we might "know" but don't put into practice.
The mind is an amazing tool.

The basic idea is that the secret is the Law of Attraction.
What we focus on, we receive.
Basically the universe is a genie and "your wish is my command"
Place your order from the catalog of the universe.

I don't think any of us ever thought about UC but we do have a lot of stress in our worlds that puts our bodies in a state of dis-ease or disease.

I don't want anyone to think I am saying don't complain, don't vent, because everyone has their own process. But from this movie, what you think about you get more of.
For example, ever stub your toe first thing in the morning and think it's going to be one of those days. And it becomes that way- a downward spiral. But if we take it upon ourselves to change our mindset we set the tone.

I just wanted to share it. Because it is a good movie to remind ourselves to be grateful for the good things.

Have a great weekend!!

I read the book the other week and there is a section on health which I had a really hard time with. Having been through a major illness I found that that whole health chapter REALLY glossed over, skirted around and completely avoided health issues. Its obvious that the person who wrote the book has not ever really been ill in her life. Yes, I fully believe that stress is responsible for many diseases and ailments - extreme stress was the trigger for my disease to raise its head. In terms of stress and disease and the 'law of attraction' spoken about in the book I think that portion of the book is crap - I can't see that being stressed says to the universe 'Give me a nasty painful disease now!'

In terms of other things that the book spoke about, well that's up to the individual to believe or not. I'm a natural born skeptic but I did find that there was some advice that we should all follow - try and start the day with a smile, be grateful for what you've got and to love the people close to you with abandon. Those are all good things and even though the health chapter is crap (in my opinion) the book is worth a read if if makes us remember the good things and prompts us to do them too.

I'll agree with you about some of the movie. Sometimes people just don't understand things because they haven't experienced it.

I worked for a chiropractor for years and he told me I was full of toxins and stuff was in my head. Most people that know me know I really do try to be a positive person. So I found I was defensive for no reason. But I chalk it up to him enjoying power trips.

I think I did have toxins in my body but I don't think I brought them into reality.

Anyway, I just think as much as possible, it is important to be optimistic.

I would much rather watch Wayne Dyer.
