Im sure people ask all the time to leave things off meals. Its nobodys business why or why not you want something. I've worked in restaurants before its not hard to leave a note for the kitchen to chance the meal.

Some people are unbeliveable!!! I dont get where they get off thinking we have to answer to them.

On another note, today at work this family came up wanted to change their ski lessons to the next session because he son had been really sick and in the hospital, she was going on about how hard it was and everything. Probably because she really wanted to switch it. She had a doctors note which was enough, so I didnt really need to hear all her ranting. So I told her i understood because I had been in the hospital the past year. Then she was like "what were you in for" I said I had my large intestine removed and she was blown away her face was priceless it was kind of funny. Then she started asking way too many questions like if i was on meds and etc which got annoying.
