Hey everyone, just had ANOTHER procedure done that will change my life for the time being. First I had a colectomy, then a bag for a bit until the takedown. Then, last year, I was diagnosed with cancer and I've been on chemo. The tumor was pressing on my ureter, so I've had a ureter stent in for about a year. After each placement, they do a renal scan a couple weeks after and after this latest one, they saw my ureter was totally blocked, weeks away form causing permanent kidney damage. Well, today I had a nephrostomy tube put through my back to my kidney. They only sedated me and did a little bit of local anesthetic, and I can confidently say it is the most pain I've been in for any sort of procedure/surgery (besides colectomy and takedown). I'm still pretty sore in that area and while I've had some experience in external bags, its still hard to get used to. But I have to say, this is a lot easier than the colostomy bag. I think the soreness will go away, and then it will be pretty manageable, but until then, it hurts a lot Frowner

I'm so sorry you're going through yet more crap. I would really like for you to come back here and say: "everything is working perfectly and I have no new procedures to report!" But I'm always amazed at your calmness and grace while you go through all of this.

For now I'll just send huge healing vibes that the pain will go away as soon as possible. And take very good care of yourself.
