Takedown was just a few days ago and my butt is certainly not burning. It hurts like the devil though....I'd say its more of a "RAW ASS" overall feeling.

By the way, did anyone else get those ghost ostomy bag feelings after takedown? Sort of like how those who get a limb amputated can still somehow feel that limb.... Just a weird feeling.

One day soon you will be sitting on the toilet and your butt is gonna burn like its midsummer in Hell because the acid from your very runny poop(maybe your sixth one in 2 hours ) will be stinging every cut and raw spot around your exit area ....then you say to yourself - Man, that is why its called BUTTBURN .
Get some ointment in advance .

I never had butt burn. It itches like hell most of the time, though.

Almost two years after takedown and I still feel poop coming out of my stoma.

Hey Jared..If you are itching you may very well have a yeast infection "dwon there", Yep! "down there"
You may need to see the doc and get some Nystatin powder or cream...

Also, I think finally had my first experience with butt burn! After not eating much for a few days due to a blockage, along with drinking a lot of grape juice, it felt like acid was coming out of my butt.

No, the itch is actually on the skin and maybe just a bit on the inside..
If you have Poop coming out your stoma then where the heck is it going??????

I had takedown June 2008, but there are times when it feels like I still have my stoma and poop is coming out of it.

When does the Butt Burn stop...Ugh!!! Or does it? It stops for a couple days than I have a "busy " day and back to the Burn I HATE it!!!
