Tee played soccer Sunday night for the first time in 4 years. She's had 2 years of UC, followed by 9 surgeries, the most recent being only 4 weeks ago (colon removal/j-pouch #1, s-pouch/revision #1, w-pouch/revision #2, 6 dilations/stricture removals). We think she's at the other end of that long tunnel, and while she will most likely continue to have strictures and dilations, Dr. Stamos is confident this last and newest pouch is "it."
While college soccer went down the tanks when she was diagnosed with UC, she's playing adult league and her first game was a success. No leaks, no need to find a bathroom at halftime - everything was fine. It was a momentous occasion.
I think you need to see the success stories on this forum as well as the struggles, so even though it was a 4-year struggle, I think we can now call it a success and give someone else some hope.

Good news for Tee! That's wonderful! She was much younger than I when suffering with UC, and I am so glad that she is finally getting her (active) life back. :-)
Take Care, Nicole
