No this is not related to my j pouch. Thankfully so.

After misdiagnosis of my shoulder(nothing wrong-Dr 1.), MRI of my neck, pinched nerves-Dr. 2, cancelled the EMG, went to Chiro, he declared it is your shoulder!Dr. 3
MRI, dx-full thickness tear in the right rotator cuff! What happened to nothing wrong?
Surgery-Dr. 4 scheduled for next Thursday, out patient in the facility that pretty much left Chris to die before he was air ambulanced to Ohio.
This will be my first time under GA since the abscess repair/hysterectomy in 1998. Almost 10 years to the day.
Wish me luck. Until then I suffer in agony and I am not supposed to lift my right arm.UGH!
I am convinced there is no end to medical issues in my house, just whose turn it is next. It;s mine now, my knee has a meniscus tear(right), left knee hurts, ingrown toenail, left big toe, bad crown with tooth torqueing that is killing me and I need a rhinoplasty for deviated septum that the bridge is too narrow!
Ah-the Golden Years!
Oh and while I am ranting a dentist filled 4 of Chris's teeth with 4 surface fillings and another dentist said there were no cavities in the first place and now he needs 4 crowns. Nice ethics huh?He hasn't suffered enough?

Whoever coined the term "the Golden Years," must have been having a senior moment.

If you still have pain long after you have been given a clean bill of health and normal x-rays, MRI is the only way to rule out soft tissue damage. I guess it is just a matter of persistence.

You do not have to have had a traumatic injury to tear your rotator cuff. Happens all the time (particularly with us oldies). If it wasn't full-thickness, you could probably take a wait-and-see approach.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck and enjoy the sleep!

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Hi Holly..I just had my rotator cuff repaired last year. It was outpatient, which I was suprised about since the rotator cuff that I had fixed years ago was done as a open surgery. I can tell you to expect pain that may come and go as long as a year after surgery....Not crippling pain but you will know it's there. When i had the operation done in "open" fashion I told my ortho doc that it was as painful contractions on baby delivery day! Thank God for lapro!
Good luck!
Heal well!
Julie

Thanks.
I can honestly say I am scared to death.
This doc does not do arthroscopic, he feels it's not as effective, his partner does but he's been referred to me as "the best" right? i believe that when it's over!
My brother had it done 5 years ago and he says it was easy, not painful after at all and he swam in the pool every day for his recovery to move faster.
I don't swim!
I actually woke up and called to see if they any cancellation for today! Pushing for Tuesday. I am not sure I can handle this pain for another week. I rooled out of bed and went through the roof. I am getting some motrin rx today when he calls it in, I said NO yesterday-Fool I am.
I am not banking on being taken care of.
The guys will do laundry and empty dishwasher, etc but Mike is cooking so weird and acting so weird since bypass on xmas.
Chris cooks frozen pizza pretty well!LOL
I really am scared.Crying intermittemly also.

Holly, I'm so sorry to hear of all the problems you're having right now!! My mom had her shoulder repaired about 4 years ago. Then my dad a year later. Both did really well and the post op pain was way better than the pre op pain.
Your family better take good care of you, you are so good to them!
Hope everything gets better, it can only get better from here! Cheryl

Holly
I'm sure you'll let us know as soon as you can how you are doing. Meanwhile we're rooting for you. Is there a Trader Joes near you? Friends swear by their frozen stuff, and if Chris can do frozen pizza, maybe he can do those!

Hi Holly,

Sorry I missed this post last week. I hope all went well with the surgery. Let us know how things went or get Chris to if it's difficult to type. Fingers are crossed that all went well and that is one less pain to have to worry about.

Take care.
