Rectal muscle spasms

Hey gang!

Just a quick question. Over the last year, I've been getting horrendous muscles spasms in the rectum. Granted, my pouchitis is flaring out of control (seeing a surgeon soon to remove it), but the muscles themselves feel like they are being ripped apart. It hurts beyond belief!!! Happens any time day or night. I've had to give up cycling, my one true passion, I'm at my wits end. I have codeine tablets, Tylenol 3, and Percocet, yet nothing really works. Have any of you encountered this, if so, what did you do about it? Hopefully, I won't have to endure this much longer, not sure what the surgeon wants to do, but looks like I'm going to have to go back to a colostomy bag (Waaahhhh!!!) but anything is better then this, I'm on 5 Px's just for my GI tract issues, not including the pain meds. Ever get the feeling your body hates you? Ohhhh....silly me, look who I'm asking! Lol!!! Thanks guys, any and all comments are greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
Eric Eeker

I think my biggest problem is being young and beautiful, it's my biggest problem 'cause I've never been young and beautiful, now I've been beautiful, and god knows I've been young, but never the 'tween have met!!!!!!!

Often....
As for the spasms....have you attempted accupuncture? Just a throught, or even ultrasound or biofeedback...Pain drugs are not going to stop the spasms by dulling the body's pain...so maybe an accupuncturist can manage to get them to stop spasming? A nurologist?
Just shots in the dark but who knows what may work...
Sharon

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

Is one of your meds an anti-spasmotic? I doubt that it would help much as your problem is so bad. Just a thought. Confused
