Okay, 3 1/2 months ago I had my reconnect and they cleaned up my spider web of adhesions (which made me extremely ill & waaay underweight & extremely depressed!)Any how, I am having the same pains in my stomach and some bouts of nauseaus. I am very scared it is happening all over again. They used that special stuff to prevent adhesions. I would like to know, does anybody have experience with reoccuring adhesions? I see some people actually had luck of them working out on their own--how likely is that? Your input is greatly appreciated.--Sue

I'm not familiar with whatever they used to prevent adhesions but I can tell you what I've done for mine. I've gone to a physical therapist and had scar tissue manipulation done on my stomach. He doesn't just work the visible scars but all over my stomach, thus attacking the adhesions underneath. Bascially it breaks them up and they pass through your body I guess? It is pretty painful to have it done but I think it could help. I know it can't hurt, right? Goodluck.

I had colectomy and J-Pouch creation March 2005, Takedown in June of 2005. Since then I've had many problems with adhesions and scar tissue in the abdoman and at the anastamosis. On January 10th this year I had exploratory laporotomy and surgeon found vast amount of scar tissue and adhesions. More than he had ever seen before. He removed all of them during a 4-hour surgery and applied Seprafilm adhesion barrier. I have been fine since except for a bout of pouchitis. Before surgery I had major pain which is (for now) been releived.
Good Luck to you
