Last Saturday my daughter and I did the Westchester NY CCFA walk held in a beatuiful park in Irvington. My chapter raised $60,000! It was our first walk-very last minute, like that morning cause of my recent foot surgery-but we did 3 miles. Next year it will be in June and held at Bloomingdales-don't look at me-and I would love to get a group up, although I think it is going to be held during the week. I have no idea what is going on. That's exciting! Good job! That's one of my chapters- where I live it falls in between regions I also go to school in Connecticut, so I'm just affiliate with whatever is closest to me at the time. Sadly, I haven't gotten the oppertunity to participate in one yet but next year it's an exciting prospect that Bloomie's is going to be involved! I just got a job offer (buying offices!)for when I graduate in May with Macy's Inc. (formerly Federated, and Bloomingdale's falls under this umbrella) Anyway, Macy's Inc. has a program that they will match donations made from their employees to organizations of their choice. I don't know the details too well other that there is some paperwork involved and a minimum and maximum donation requirement. Regardless, I'll be taking full advantage of this "benefit" and will put it to use with CCFA things

That's really brilliant and something you couldn't even have considered a year ago! I can't believe how well you look too! I had to do a double-take to see which was you and which was your daughter!
Keep up the great work.
Luv & hugs

I'm sure next year's walk will be a great success, but I doubt it will be at the department store. In White Plains, not only is there the store Bloomies, but "Bloomingdales" also refers to the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center psychiatric center off Bloomingdale Road/North Street that has 234 beautiful acres and has been there almost 100 years. It's a funny coincidence that the store was built near the already-named road, replacing I think B. Altman's.
I live down in Virginia now but lived near there in White Plains throughout my childhood. Just wouldn't want to discourage the non-shoppers who might plan to walk!
