Why we're getting these people who aren't 'one of us' posting things advertising themselves?
Like this and this? And it's interesting that they're posting in forums that aren't as frequented as the other forums. What's up with that? kathy *********************************************************** Lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip it's been..... Grateful Dead |

And I saw a weird one in the k-pouch discussion group. Hmmm...spammers, and I guess they want to be like us!

I reported the first one to Bill J. I think that they are test posts to see if their identities stay intact. By posting in a more inactive forum, they can fly under the radar more. If you copy and paste a portion of the post and Google it, you will find that it is posted all over the place.
Not too long ago there was one who laid dormant for a while with these goofy posts, then started posting links to commercial sites after a while. My guess is that this person, or people get a stipend by getting others to follow a link. Hopefully, it is not our neighborhood troublemaker! Jan Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass. |

Kathy - maybe some people just have pouch envy? A lot of people have told me that they wish they could poop all day like me!
Have a nice day David |

This really isn't all that uncommmon. I co-moderate another forum (completely unrelated topic) and we occasionally get spammers posting ads for all types of services and products that having nothing to do with our forum topic. The forum I moderate is a relatively small, sports-interest group and I always wonder how these people manage to find us, but then again, people go to great lengths to promote the products or services they sell. It's like Jan said, I'm sure they get some type of comission so they'll advertise just about anywhere. Best thing to do is just report the post and then move on. Most of these spammers post once and then don't return anyway.
