Congratulations Jason!! It is strange when you look back and realize all the good and bad obstacles we had to go through. I know getting back to work or school is also a big part of recovery, only this time around we will be able to conquer the world without any restraints. Take care out there.

Thanks you guys so much.. means a lot to me that you took time and posted Smiler I had a great last week off. Yesterday my wife and I went to dinner and a play and then coffee (got home late and never had to empty and all was great)
Tonight we went to dinner and a hockey game. She looked at me and said - Its nice to be back to normal! So last weekend off before the real world hits, but so excited and thanks you for sharing it with me Smiler

Jason,
Congrads on getting back to work, that was the real sign for me to getting back to normal, I didn't ease into it, I went back to work full time right away w/ my permanent ileo and no troubles. If one thing changed it was that I was much more productive and don't take time off work because of being sick, now I just take off for normal sick and to play hooky(lol).

Good luck and I'm sure the ileo will not slow you down.....Don

Jason;
It's so wonderful to hear that you have done so well, with ALL of your surgeries, that you are now returning to your line of work. I'm sorry that you had so many complications with your pouch surgery and had to revert to the perm. ostomy. However, it obviously has done wonders for you!! You have enjoyed the hot tub, hockey, the datenights with your lovely wife, and now back to the reality of work. There are so many people on here that admire you for the way in which you have handled yourself thru all of this. You are a strong, compassionate person and I have no doubt that these come into play with your work as well! I have had wonderful results with my 22yr old pouch. But, hope that if I needed to change over to a perm ostomy, I could do so with half the grace with which you have managed to do it. Congrats with the return to work, and please be safe!! We look forward to more postings in your future!
Michele

Price Is Right isn't so bad...at least you didn't resort to watching Jerry Springer episodes (I hope).

Congratulations Jason. I must say when I was off the Police Dept. for a year going through my surgeries I can not truthfully say I missed it. Razzer They also offered me medical leave at 1/2 pay but I refused and returned back to work. Now I am counting the months, 34 to be exact until I can collect my pension. Back in 2000 when I went through all this I never thought I would be back at work, playing ice hockey and enjoying life again. Best of luck, Darren. Big Grin
