I finally scheduled my takedown. July 24th - I am sure it will come fast. My surgeon will also be removing my mediport at the same time. Should be fun trying to get out of bed!!

Just want to wish you good luck and remember... try not to judge your recovery day by day... But look at it a few weeks by a few weeks. In no time you will be up and running around and I am hoping for a healthy life for you Smiler

Jeannie - Good Luck on the take down.
Hey bluejay,
I see you had 2 months between surgeries...did you go back to work between or just take the whole time off with std?
I am looking at 6 weeks or so between step 1 and 2 surgeries and was thinking about staying out on std the whole time to make it easier than re-applying.
how long do you plan on being out after your TD? hope all is going well.
David

Hi Indy Dave
The first step I was not eligible for STD because my length of employment . I took all my vacation time (3 WEEKS) and did 2 more weeks working from home . I was physically able to be at my desk the remaining time before TD.
I was at my company long enough when I had my TD (sigh of relief). I have been out about 6 weeks and I am in the process of getting an extension for 3..Believe me you really need the time off.I though step 2 would be a breeze but I was seriously wrong. Funny step 1 I did better. You are doing the right thing taking 3-4 months off. Its a tough surgery. PM me if you want to chat

Thanks
Anthony
