im heath, im 23, i live in alabama, as a student. i was diagnosed with u.c. when i was 8 years old (15 years with the disease) and i had a total proctocolectomy with a temp ileo created. this was ofcourse a relief from the symptoms, great, and i truly am thankful for that my first surgery went fine, it was difficult at first, but im young, and generally in perfect health, and so i bounced back rather swiftly. . but i was on prednisone for over a year PRE surgery and ofcourse along with it not working, it caused my immunity to be so low, that i developed a seroma right above my pubic bone thats about an inch long and half inch in diameter...thanks prednisone!....so i found that after it healed (mid term between first and takedown) it left a huge scar..... takedown came along and i did wonderfully, i was actually passing bowel movements by day 2! i had it in my head that i was ready to get better..and did! attitude has alot to do with how you heal i believe...at any rate i was fine, eating, and loving life..and still am...i basically had very little downtime..but..theres a butt in all of these stories...but mine involves the hideous appearance of the seroma scar and where it is at...its not bad...compared i mean i have my scar from my temp ileo (4inches wide) and the footlong from my bellybutton to my pubic bone...and im rather skinny..so the incision was as minnimul as possible...and still rather large...i suppose i can get over it...you know im healthy now and thats all that matters...and i believe the more i get BACK into the shape i was before ill have less of an issue with it..but it drives me crazy...i heard there were laser treatmeants you could get...anyone know any ideas.. ...
...life is but a dream...
