I know I'm a freak, because I never have liked chocolate, but what about white chocolate? Do you think it would cause the same reaction?

I absolutely love everything with spaghetti sauce, don't know what I'm going to do without it after take down!

Theresa,
Some one mentioned putting a bit (like a teaspoon) of baking soda in the sauce and it would help if the sauce gave you butt burn. You might try a search on tomato sauce, I'm almost sure I read it here.

I'm also a freak, I guess, I don't care that much about chocolat either.

White chocolate has little or no cocoa powder, so it's all fat and sugar.

I eat tomato sauce all the time with few problems, and although it might cause
more gas and night leakage than some other foods, I have not associated it
with butt burn. It's not that acidic, and acidic foods do not really cause
butt burn anyhow. Stool is alkaline and laced with active digestive enzymes.
If you put red pepper or some other hot spices in your sauce, that will burn.
I would not recommend that you eat tomato sauce on 100% whole wheat pasta with a
generous amount of beans, onions, mushrooms, etc., although I have done this
for many years thanks to Beano.

man you guys are lucky, I use to LOVE pasta, but the tomato sauce ALWAYS gives be major BB and acid reflux...and the cream sauce? I might as well swallow explosives!...although I've never tried Beano, does it really work?

I think my biggest problem is being young and beautiful, it's my biggest problem 'cause I've never been young and beautiful, now I've been beautiful, and god knows I've been young, but never the 'tween have met!!!!!!!

I think the Beano helps a lot. It's a mix of digestive enzymes
that helps break down some of the starches that would otherwise
ferment in your pouch. The Beano also helps digest corn,
pasta, onions, broccoli, peanuts, etc. (but not tomatoes).

Meijer supermarkets also sell a store band version with those same
enzymes ("Food Enzyme").

I do not know why tomatoes have never bothered me, even without
any Beano. Chocolate definitely affects me, but that doesn't
stop me from eating it often!

eric, you sound like you react to foods the same way i do. i can eat chocolate chip cookie dough (awful, i know!!) with no problem, but a salad or even a glass of o.j. will kill me. i can eat white bread, meat, cheese, and sweets! if it's healthy, it hurts. and i am not exercising the way i used to because of this ridiculous achiness i've acquired. but a little secret...this dose of steroids i've been on for the last two weeks has made me able to actually enjoy a salad (and, yes, with romaine)for three days in a row!!! it's heavenly. haven't really eased up on the sweets yet, though. i don't know if that's in my future.
