Not the best since last night..I am having headaches (not my style), nausea and dizziness...and a nasty anxious feeling in my gut (anxiety?)...been pretty much shut in most of the day...tried to sleep but it didn't work, tried to drink tons of fluids, eat bananas, a bit of salty cheese and bread (not good for the liquidity of my pouch..now is not the time to start strainning)...and I am feeling the lonliness and isolation today...nearly passed out a couple of times and thought that no one would find me until tomorrow night when hubby comes home...I hate complainning...I just took some Valarian root hoping that that will calm me down a bit...I am too afraid to take something like a valium because I suspect that my BP is really low and that will just drop it down lower...I may ask the visiting nurse to check it tomorrow...now to make it through the night.
I ate some mashed veggies for dinner with a bit of cheese and tons of salt...hoping that this ucky feeling goes away soon.
Sharon

It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....

Sorry to hear this, Sharon, I was going to congratulate you on your recent procedure and saw this post from you. Are you on any antibiotics? Flagyl gives me headaches and some anxiety. I hope the rest of the day has been kinder to you since your post. The visiting nurse is an excellent idea as it will attend to you physically and mentally by giving you more peace of mind.

Hi Lamb,
well the night was a little long, couldn't sleep from the headache but I finally crashed...this morning I nearly passed out in the shower so when the nurse arrives I will beg for a BP check...am maybe a bit anemic..lets see but I don't like this feeling...
Tummy still looks lumpy for the moment, I am hoping that it is just swelling....

Sharon,

Just wanted to send you a message to say I really hope you are feeling better. If you have not tried upping your liquids, do so today and just rest until the nurse comes to check you out (if she has not already). You have been through a lot with the recent surgery will take time to heal so take this time to pamper yourself with extra rest. I believe the belly will go down as I hated the lumpiness after my stoma reversal, but a few months later and it looks so much better.

Thanks Kjeane,
Am waiting for her now...I may try an oldfashioned remedy to up my BP and start to feel better...Yerba Maté..it is a tea that we drink in Argentina and reputed to have all sorts of virtues...It is very hard to find here but I found a pack just before going to the clinic...I will try to make some (kind of strange way of drinking it...you fill up a gourde or mug with the Maté, cover it with boiling water and then suck on a sugar cube or let one melt on the surface while drinking it and keep refilling the mug with hot water..)I used to drink it all of the time post op...let's see if it works.
Sharon...
PS...yikes, hubby is on his way home, I am dizzy, nauseous and am waiting for have my dressings to be done...not at all presentable Big Grin

Totally need the BP check; I'll bet your iron is a tad low, as well. The rest is probably from over-doing it a bit; so hard when even basic things are difficult, I know. And you want to get up and around, but you really must cast yourself as the Victorian maiden with the nervous condition and loll about on your sofa! Hope the energy comes back soon.

AAngry, pissed off, mad as hell....Arrrrhhhhhh!
The nurse just came to change my dressings and give me the heprin shot and I finally got a look at my tummy/scars...there was a large ridge that I saw in the horizontal scar that I thought was just a wrinkle or fold or he had pulled a couple of stitches too tight when closing...it is Not...it is the old stoma scar...he didn't excise it!!! He cut right trough it, added a new 8inch scar but did not even clean it up...so he left my 2 old stoma scars intact only worse now!!!! So I am soooo Livid! Why???? I didn't ask him for much, just that while he was there and lopping off cyst and skin to reduce my 2 stoma scars so that I have a half decent abdomn!!!!!! Now it is even more scarred than before....
Damn!
