Till this day how many of you feel like me that you are many times suprised, shocked, and happy that you are almost feeling like normal. Especially with the fact that you can hold your urge to use the bathroom till there is a bathroom available? I know alot of us might still go through our ups and downs. Days when you feel like you never had anything and days that you just feel like laying down but i just take that as my body saying you had fun, now rest. lol. I just wanted to rant on how i've been feeling about the j pouch surgery. Share your happiness too please and be honest about your ups and downs.

I'm happy too. Specially about being able to hold it til I can get the the bathroom. Sometimes it hurts--feel like I'm walking with a rod up my arse cause It'll hurt bad like that sometimes and I'm forever disgusted by what exits my body (like normal coloned poop--well I used to kinda like going to the restroom. Sorry I guess thats gross but anyway) but now its just plain disgusting. But hey, I can hold it. I no longer look a skeleton. I have energy. I'm glad Ihad the surgery. Good post Alexis God is Good. All the time.

I couldn't be happier. After years of not being able to eat, having no energy and constant fevers and pain, I now have none of this. I can eat most anything I want. I'm still trying to figure out how different foods will effect me. I have plenty of energy and am not falling asleep at 7 in the evening. No more fevers and just a little pain, mostly from gas. I'm beginning to get back into excerising again which feels great! My recent downs have been dealing with an abcsess. I still haven't had the relief from the doctors since the surgery that I'd hope for. First a cyst, then cuffitis and now the abcsess. I'm hoping once the abcsess clears it will be smooth sailing. www.lifeisapotty.blogspot.com C-diff: 3/2001 UC Diagnosis: Summer 2002 Step 1: 9/10/10 Step 2: 12/8/10 Cuffitis: 2/2011 Chronic Pouchitis: 11/2011

The older my pouch gets the happier I am. I still am on pain medication and have those other organs down there trying to prolapse but the hill is getting easier to climb. All I need now is to get rid of the anemia and get more help with my other medical issues. No more colon cancer worry, no more UC pain and drain. Like many say in here. I wish I'd does this years ago because I can see where this is going and liking what I see! ~~~~~ You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails ~~~~~

Add me to the happy list! My jpouch works fabulous and the only lingering issue I have had is anemia. But I just got my recent blood work back and my hemoglobin is up to 11.0 from from 8.8 in just a month! Guess the iron supplements are finally working! Marianne DX UC 2005 when I was 37 Tried every drug and diet....all failed Step 1- 6/25/10 (colectomy & J-pouch creation) Step 2- 10/8/10 (take down) Very pleased with my results.

The older me and my pouch got the more we loved each other and behaved well. Add me to your happy list. To all you new ones don't give up it does take time. We have all went through using every cream in the store, trying every thing we heard about to slow the bm's, burning butt, etc. Finally what helped me was to get on pysllium or the wafers to keep the liquid stool together and firmer. To help for the b.burns is to get a spray bottle to clean with because the paper is harsh , the best if you can, is to get a Bidet for your toilet. I have been watching this site since Feb. 2001, I was Number 891 that is 10yr's ago and I no longer see many of the early joiners , so you know they are doing well and busy. So search all you can on this site and you should try some of what you read to see if it works. gloria...Life is like a Dance, you learn as you go.
