I haven't posted for years but have occasionally snooped. My old name was Tweety, but now I am the Pie Lady since I earn most of my meager income selling artisan pies and cookies at the a local farmer's market. Aseptic necrosis has me looking for info from others who are now dealing with this plague as a result of the steroid use from UC or other diseases. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Theresa

Hi Pie Lady,
So glad to have you back after so many years. So nice that over 100 people looked at your message but nobody can say one word of hello or offer any assistance or encouragement.
Love,
Myself

Hi Pie Lady,
I am not familiar with aseptic necrosis but have used lots of steroids in my past. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues so many years later. Hopefully someone will be along with the same issue that can offer you some advice. Good luck to you!

Hi Pie Lady
I am new to this site so don't know you from before or now, but I'm sure I'll be here for a while now. I'm sorry to hear of your problem I also didn't know what it was but after googling it, it is nothing good. I guess I've been lucky cause I've never had to take steroids for a very long time or in high doses, but until I started reading this site I never knew about all the side effects of taking them. You would think the doctors would inform the patients of the side effects of drugs before handing them out instead of us having to research everything. My doctor I see now told me I needed to start thinking about having the surgery, or going on Remicade. After reading all the possible side effects of Remicade I chose the surgery. Only time will tell if I made the right dissision Frowner.

Hey Pie Lady... I think I remember Tweety. I just signed on again after being away for many years. My previous display name was Fartblossom. I don't have an answer or advice for your concern... just wanted to say HEY!

Thanks to everyone who posted. I was only on prednisone for 6 months but I still got this disease. I am afraid that aseptic necrosis/ avascular necrosis (AVN) may turn out to be a problem for many j-pouchers in the future. It took 21 years for it to show up on an x-ray for me. I know that there have been posts about this in the past. I will try posting somewhere else on the site.
