Sorry for this rant, I just need to get this off my chest.
I had a "mushroom" drain put in 4 weeks ago to drain an abscess. I was told by the Dr's at CC that if it got too long, my local surgeon could "trim" it. Well, I went in today to have that done, and he cut it too short! (It's now inside the abscess, no tail sticking out like it was before) I spoke with the Dr on call at CC tonight, and I have to call Gina (Dr. Dietz's nurse) in the morning, and more than likely go and have this drain removed, and a new one put in.
It's just really frustrating that my local (yes, I know, just a general) surgeon messed things up, and I was dumb enough to let him do it.
Okay, I'm done now. Thanks

So, update...Back from CC. Dr. Dietz removed my drain, and didn't have to replace it (YEA!!) I saw the ET nurses while I was there, and they changed the type of appliance I was wearing. Dietz also made me see Dr. Shen, for a flex sig. They said my pouch was looking a LOT better, and the cuff was less inflamed. Shen put me on Cipro for who knows how long.
I'm feeling a LOT better without that drain. They said that I could keep the loop ileo as long as I want...and we have the go ahead to start trying for kids (according to Gina, with the condition that we name them David and Bo - ha ha, I thought it was REAL funny when they had me semi-sedated)!! SO....we'll start trying in a few months...wish us luck! Big Grin

Yeah no more drain! I'm glad that things worked out okay after all that. Good news too that your cuff is looking better Smiler
Semi-sedation is an interesting state of mind. Lol. I always tend to get a little bit bossy after sedation. I have no idea why!
Good luck conceiving, and I hope things continue to improve for you.

I'll walk this winding road into the great unknown.
