Well, after 4 years of trying, my wife is pregnant again!

The cool part of the story is the faith of my 4 year old. Last Oct-Nov (she was 3 1/2), I told her that we needed to think of something to get Mommy for Christmas. In the course of the conversation, she turned it into a birthday gift and said, "I know what we should get Mommy for her birthday. We should get her another child." So I told her she could do her part in that and pray - and she did. We prayed for a baby often, along the way explaining to her that it would be a baby and not an instant, 3-4 year old playmate like she was thinking.

Well, my wife's birthday is in May, and it came and went last year with no pregnancy and no baby. My daughter later asked me, "Why did God say, 'No?'" I reminded her that she learned sometimes God says, "Yes," sometimes He says, "No," and sometimes He says, "Wait." And I explained maybe he was just saying, "Wait."

Just last week she said something again about wishing we had, "...more people in our family." And as I started to respond she cut me off with a spontaneous prayer - again, for God to give her Mommy another baby.

So, here we go.... And guess what? The due date for this baby is May 23 - one day before my wife's birthday! What a gift!

If you pray, please pray for them with me. And thanks for your support!

Steve

Thanks again.

We told our daughter the news last night, and she was pretty happy. It was fun to see the smile light up her face.

She was funny too. She said, "God didn't answer the first prayer" (meaning that my wife didn't have a baby for her last birthday), "but He can't stop us from asking." Pretty funny. She can be persistent.

Oh, and she decided to offer up some names. I told her that Mommy and Daddy really get to decide, but she could offer suggestions if she wanted. Let's see... "Cookie" (the fish's name), "Elmo" (the dog and the Sesame Street guy's name), "Truck," "Tree," etc. I don't think she's got the hang of naming people yet.
