i'm not from san diego, but i have the same problems with my GI here in norcal. i always get asked the same, dumb questions that i feel like he should know or have some clue about. the one that kills me that my GI always asks me is "how is the colon doing?" I sit there dumbfounded. i want to tell him, "i don't know! it's sitting in some jar on some internn'sdesk somewhere. stop asking." but i hold my tongue and just smile and nod.

There is a Dr that practices a little north of S.D. and I believe his name is Launer. I guess he is in Mission Viejo(sp?). He trained with the big boys at Cleveland Clinic snd apparently is a good surgeon(colo/rectal). It's strange that we don't get too many people out of the San Diego area with pouches... My sister lives in Pacific Beach... Julie
What I say is from the heart...To give, from my experiences..So others can feel well enough to do the same

I only see my surgeon for follow up concerns. It's been over 5 years and I guess I saw my GI doc at first but then decided my surgeon knew more about J-pouches.
