I have two questions and quite frankly, don't know if anyone would have an answer for me, but I am curious.
I think that I am on the verge of getting Pouchitis - I have been feeling very crampy, have lots of gas, leakage, miserable butt burn, etc. I've been fighting it for a few weeks but it seems to be getting worse and I don't want it to go any further without proper treatment so will most likely be calling the doctor shortly. However, just wondering if you would know if Pepto Bismol would kill the infection without taking any antibiotics or am I really loopy?? Also, I have been using probiotics, both PB8 and Culturelle for a number of years - if this is indeed pouchitis what are the probiotics doing? I thought it helped to keep pouchitis away. This would be my second bout with it in less than 6 months. Would appreciate any information that you may have. Sorry, meant to put this in the Pouchitis part of the site .... Mema,
I cannot survive without Pepto Bismol. My pouch is still not a well working one if I did not use PB I would be on the toilet all day. I also use Tincture of Opium and Lomotil during the day. Give it a try - you have nothing to lose. |
