Sharon,
I am so sorry that you are going through this! My fingers are crossed that it is just your body healing and not something else. You have certainly been through enough! Please know that we are all there for you in spirit.

Sharon,
I am praying for you. I wish that I could do more, but please know you are in my mind and prayers.
It isn't fair. You deserve only good things.

I hope your nurse called one of your doctors or your surgeon's partner's and you are on an antibiotic by now. I had the exact same problem and no fever. I was on 10 days of antibiotics and when they went in for surgery #2 I had a huge abcess under the incision.... Please let us know, I'm worried for you.

No word from my docs yet...my surgeon is out of town for 3 weeks and obviously my G.I. is not availible either...what antibiotics did any of you take for post op incisional infections? I have a pharmacist that will give me anything if I give him the name/dosage/duration etc....and he hands out the drugs Big Grin (no, not that kind!) But he knows and trusts me...and knows that my doc will send out the script later....

Amoxicillian 875 - 2 times a day or
Amoxicillian 500 - 3 times a day

Take for 10 days - I was just on the 875's for a baby abcess that had puss in it. It's in the penicillian family. I took the 875 2 times a day, the maximum dose, but she wanted to make sure she killed it. I'm also tall and probably weight more than you do. You look petite in your picture.

I hope you can get something to nip it in the bud!
I was on "cephalexin" after my surgery and don't remember the dose. It's in a different family.

Thanks Tough,
I am monitoring the scar to check for heat, redness, blood or liquid seeping...the nurse just called to say that she can't come today or this weekend so I am on my own...not too painful so I should be fine. My pharmacist is on alert if I need the stuff, will call it in.
Will go for a walk now and see how I do...maybe to the market? No pulling caddies and carts...I promise!
