Wow, I can't believe it's been one year already, and best of all, just about trouble free!
No more pain, bleeding, accidents, drugs, steroids, missed work, and planning life around where bathrooms are.
I empty my pouch 6-8 times a day, when I choose to. If I cheat and have really greasy, fatty foods, 8-10 times. I have only needed calmoseptine maybe 5 or 6 times.
I hope my trouble free surgeries, and the excellent quality of life with a j-pouch I am experiencing, offers some hope and peace of mind to anyone struggling with the decision to try the j-pouch route.

I think you and everyone else celebrating their year anniversary should throw a party; I did. And they sang, "Happy no ostomy to you!" It should be a time to celebrate! Congrats! I hope you continue to experience good health and a great quality of life.

Thanks everyone, for the kind words, and for sharing in my excitement!
I have been on the receiving end of lots of answered prayers, good vibes and advise from j-pouch.org members, and a whole lot of support from family and friends like Michele.
I really hope my success, helps or encourages others. Monique

Congratulations, Monique! I just passed my seven month anniversary, so I am hoping for further improvements over the next 5 months. I hope that I, too, can post a positive one-year anniversaty message like you.
