Not sure if this is the right forum for an introduction, so I'll keep it short. I finally got over my privacy posting paranoia and figured out how to let in the cookies so I could register. I had been on the IBDSucks BBD years and years ago, but as the web became more commercial I have gotten scared of posting.
I have been living with my j-pouch for almost 14 years now, and made it through 2 successful c-sections. But I haven't seen my GI in a little over a year now. Anyone else still have their pouch this long? SueLynn |

Hi SueLynn. I've had my pouch for about three years now. How has your pouch been for all that time? That's very encouraging to me when I hear people have them for so long. I was only 29 when I had my first surgery, got the final j-pouch takedown when i was 30, and hope it last me forever!
Nice to meet you. Rani |

I've had my good days and my bad days since I've gotten the pouch. I'm usually OK if I watch what I eat very carefully, but I don't have enough willpower to do that.
It seems like I've experienced many of the problems that I see posted about here. Looking for solutions that someone else may have found that would help me out. I guess I either have low grade pouchitis or some form of Chrohns according to my GI but I am trying to live with it without medications at this point. I've been on Flagyl, Cipro, some other drug I can't remember its name, VSL-3, other acidophilus and probiotics, Rowasa, even fish oil enemas. Some work for a while, nothing seems to work forever. I think I'm going to try Metamucil wafers next. |
