Hi skn69!

Of course! It should be all a-z pouchers! lol

Paris, Ontario or France?

What is the difference between a k-pouch and a j-pouch? Is it something about the "hook-up"?

I had my first surgery in March of 2009 and the take down in August 2009. My surgeon is Nancy Baxter at St. Mike's. And yours?

Nice to meet you and I look forward to hearing back from you! Nice pic (naughty devil?!), is that you?

Jen

Yup, That's me..taken in Toronto 2 holloweens ago..between surgery 4 and 6...I live in Paris, France thanks to Dr. Cohen and his wonderful work on my k pouch..gave me the freedom to travel and then I just never stopped. It has been over 30 years...The j pouch has a natural exit (yup..you get to keep you A-hole Big Grin) but the K pouch is the same pouch but with an abdominal exit..meaning that I have a cute little stoma that is continent..meaning nothing comes out unless I want it to and then I just put a tube in and the stuff pours out...I did not have a functional anal sphinctre so I had no real choice..I was fully incontinent...yuck...most of my life....
I do pretty much everything that I want and eat with moderation but with appetite..just really careful about veggies/fruits and chewing/fiber....
So when and where is your upcoming surgery...I don't think that I have every been to St. mikes...usually just TGH or Mt Sinai..
Yes we are a big community...warm, loving and welcoming...
Keep me up to date on what is going on with you..
Sharon
