Anyone from Ohio. I am going to the Cleveland Clinic to get the surgery done. Just wondering if there is anyone out there who went there and who they went to and what the outcome has been.

Hi, I'm from Columbus and had my surgery here, by Dr. William Wise at Riverside Hospital, excellent surgeon.

But MANY people on the site have had their surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and I've heard and read nothing but praise for the doctors and staff up there.

I go to CC, my surgeon is Dr Remzi - he's fantastic, very kind excellent bedside manner, really good sense of humor too. My GI is Dr Shen he is fabulous too. I've always gotten excellent care and I highly recommend it!

where is Dr. shen at?

Dr. Shen is also at the CC. He is the GI whereas Dr. Remzi, Dr. Fazio and I am sure many other miracle workers are the surgeons at the facility. If you are lucky like I was, I had both Dr. Fazio and Dr. Shen in the room at the same time and discussing my situation with each other and with me.

I too am being treated at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr.Shen first and then referred to Dr. Remzi for surgery. I had my colon removed on 3-20-07 by Dr. Remzi in what will be a 3 step. The surgery was done laproscopically and I was out in 5 days. As kaydbird said, they are great. If I have a concern, I send an email and usally have an answer by 7 p.m. same day. (Dr. Shen) It is a 4 hour drive for me to get to CC, but has been well worth it.

Mike I'm jealous! How in the world did you manage to have you, Fazio and Shen in the same room at the same time?!? Its like a fantasy of mine to have me and Remzi and Shen all talking to eachother at the same time...

I had Dr. Shen and Dr. Lavery was my surgeon. The GI's and surgeons seem to work well together. I am coming up on my 2 year anniversary! Best wishes to you.

I am from Ohio. I have been to Dr. Shen a few tims. He and his assistant, Kerry Sherman, RN, are wonderful. I have a GI doc in Toledo; I wonder if I would be better off sticking with the 3 hour drive to Dr. Shen vs. the local GI doc.

I am from Ohio too. I had my takedown about 10 days ago. I went to the Cleveland Clinic also. My surgeon was Dr.Church and GI Dr. Lashner. I love the both and would definitely recommend them!
