Hi, My name is Rocco and I live in Flemington, NJ and I am new to this site. I have found this site it very helpful that the people like me understand what it is like to deal with this day in and day out if your having a bad day. I used to sweat it out because it would last 2 or so weeks at a time. Now I don't worry or complain about it anymore because it makes things worse

I had UC since 1985, Colectomy in 1993, J-Pouch in 1994, Bowel Obstruction 1999, Kidney Cancer in 2009, etc. 14 surgeries in all. Had inguinal Hernia on both sides and but I have one more. Its an Incisional Hernia and the risks of having it or not makes no difference becuase it can lead to another obstruction, Right now my answer is No and I have to put my faith in God if I have to do that again. Therefore, I don;t worry about it. I hope to hear from some of you who live near Flemington, NJ

Hi Rocco,

I just saw your post today. I currently live in Florence Twp just south of Bordentown. I still work in Hamilton. Like you had UC since the 1980s which resulted in several obstructions. I had a total collectomy in 2006 and did so well with it that I decided not to have the reversal. Honestly, I am afraid of the complications I see on this site and I certainly feel better than I did when I had UC. I am sorry you had so many complicaitons. Who is your doctor? I hope your faith will keep you healthy and happy
