I've seen psychologists represent themselves as "specializing in chronic illnesses or medical problems"

I actually met someone here who is one. I wish I could find her. She was either in St Louis or Chicago.
Anyway, I called hospice and they referred me. Waiting for a call.

I know you posted a while ago but... I am actually getting my doctorate degree in clinical psychology. Unfortunately there is no special degree for medical illness in psychology. I was just surfing the CCFA website last night and was really bothered to find NO place for individual support! However, I for one (after I graduate and become a licensed psychologist) plan on working with Crohn's and Colitis patients. WE all are experts! I am going to take my training and my personal experience with me in my career.
Also, I know a couple of psychologists that due to knowing someone close to them with UC and Crohns has become familiar with the illness and surgeries and provides therapy to people like us.
I also hope to make it easier for people to find psychologists familiar with our medical gripes and provide a link for people to find one.
I wish I could let you know if a link but I dont. I usually just get some recommendations for a psychologist and call and ask them if they are familiar with crohn's and uc. Maybe for now, that is the best bet.

Best,
Kristen
