Take down for my brother is Thursday - warm wishes - prayers or strong positive vibes welcome. We are hoping for the "easy" surgery - where they do not have to cut him open again to hook the jpouch up.

He had his tests etc yesterday and met with Dr Remzi... sounds like all went pretty well ... a bit anemic, a bit high on enzymes from liver but nothing alarming.

He said Dr Remzi was very animated this visit and said you would almost think he was on drugs LOL because he was so different from his normal self that he had observed before (mr professional - almost appearing stern) .. someone must have spiked his cornflakes with some happy juice LOL

Anyways ... they have 2 days for some sight seeing and then Thursday is the day ... will drop a note when I receive what I expect to be a good report.

Sending positive vibes as I write this. Time for brother to have some good luck. Maybe this is the time for good luck for the whole family since you have had more than your share of bad!

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Thanks so much for the well wishes.

Brother is out of surgery - got a call just before 9 (my time) from his partner letting me know all went well and that was about all he knew as of yet.

Now I am just trusting he doesn't have to have the NG tube - as that was his big fear because he cannot handle those (mentally). So fingers crossed that all will continue to go smoothly for him and that this will be his cakewalk of life that he so, so deserves after all he has been thru and having just been through so much for our mom.

Thanks again!

I'm glad your brother's surgery went well, I know its been an incredibly long haul for him. Dr Remzi is my surgeon too, I have actually found him to be funny and goofy more often than not Smiler and only serious when he is stressed. He generally doesn't use the NG tube either, unless your brother has a lot of nausea I would imagine that he doesn't have one.

I hope his recovery goes, well. Keep us posted!

He needed this so badly... I pray his recovery is quick and goes as smooth as all has so far. Thanks so much to all of you for your well wishes - I know he appreciates it too.

That's brilliant news! Smiler

I've got everything crossed that this is the last procedure he will ever have and that he makes a speedy, trouble-free recovery.

Pass on my best wishes to him.

Take are Smiler

Brother was released today and will stay @ hotel until his checkup with Dr Remzi on Wednesday and then fly home on Thursday.

Bit uncomfortable and having to deal with the constant "go" status right now but doing okay by the sounds. Sure hope all continues okay and that it is a fast recovery for him.

Thanks again for all of the well wishes. I am sure he will appreciate reading them when he gets home and feels up to getting back on the pc ...

I am so happy to hear all went well in Ohio.
The first few weeks are a huge adjustment. nerves play a big part in having to go alot. Relaxing is helpful. No stress.
I found that getting my mind off of myself was the biggest help of all and not thinking about going and being near the bathroom.

Bro has been readmitted to Cleveland Clinic.
I guess he got very ill and could not hold down even liquids so dr Remzi told him to head for ER yesterday early afternoon. He remained in ER until this evening when a room finally opened up for him and they will keep him at least overnight - check tomorrow how things are working.

They told him they think they released him a bit too soon - as all seemed to be well but they think now it was nature taking its course not the body truly functioning as it should ...

Fingers crossed that this is a minor setback and all will be okay quickly.

They won't know until dr checks him tomorrow if they can fly home tomorrow evening as planned or if they will have to change flight schedule ...

Will send an update when I know what's up.

Update - Sounds like he will be released again this afternoon - then stay at hotel until Saturday to be sure all is well prior to flying home.

Remzi said he thinks he was plugged up and that it has now broken free so should be okay - getting a lot of cramping but nausea has let up mostly.

That's great news. I think that quite a few people have had this happen - they're released and end up back in the hospital. But everything usually turns out just fine.

And you're right - your brother IS a cutie! What happened to that photo link????

Thanks for all the updates. I hope you get him back home very soon.
