Hello,
in March the valve of my Kock-Pouch will be repaired. Can anybody tell me the expected length of the hospital stay. Thanks in advance for your answers! Kind Regards Martin |

Quite honestly it depends on how they fix it, if it can be fixed or needs to be replaced...and if in order to replace it they have to make a new pouch...If they just fix the valve (how I do not know) it could be a short stay but you would still have to keep your pouch on strait drain for quite a while to allow the valve to heal...
I think that first you have to find out what kind of repair they intend to do... Keep us posted... ps. I had 3 or 4 repairs, the first he had to move the pouch and retack down the valve..1 week hospital: 6 weeks bedrest. The second he had to flip the pouch and creat a new valve entirely...1 week hospital: 3 months bed. the others were smaller surgeries and required shorter stays and proportional bed rest....who is doing yours and where? Sharon It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here.... |
