In response to all of your questions sometimes I use a 3M stomaseal or just a piece of gauze with paper tape, with a waterproof tape over that.

Whatever waters I've swam in I used Band-aid brand 2x3 adhesive bandage. For so many years I didn't know there were other things available.

You might consider using the Ampatch if you are concerned..I think the adhesive they use is similar to super glue or buy some Hy-tape (pink tape) and stick it over a bandage. ( I used this to seal the bathtub drains during the hurricanes when we filled the tubs and not a drop of water was lost)

I use "Skin Tac" before putting on a "AM Patch". I use this before swimming, cutting the grass or any physical activity that will cause me to sweat. The combination of the two of them has been terrific.

well not that I went swimming over the last weekend but all summer long I go to the beach and I always use the 3M dressing. I always have spare ones to put on in case mine gets wet and soggy or starts to come off.

The AMPatch has a good adhesive and is hyper allergenic. I've used Larry's tip on the skin tac, which works great. As an added safety feature, a large I.V. clear cover (hospital supply) makes for a sure waterproof seal that will even withstand body surfing in the ocean. Bill

Mike you can now purchase Tegaderm by 3M at CVS over the counter. That is what they put over your IV sites in the hospital. I used it recently to cover my surgical bandages on my hip and it kept everything nice and dry and was easy on my skin.

I agree with Larry and Bill. I use the Ampatch, always with some SkinTac first - thanks for THAT tip away back Larry ! Lynne
