Sharon is fine. Waiting a week before flying home as of last e mail on Wednesday.
Dr appt was fine. She is holding her own as of now. A bit aprehensive about returning to Paris but eager to do so. |

Did they do a complete re-build of her old K-pouch valve? If so, does the new valve work with easy intubation and no leaking at all?
Thanks. |

Gee, he'd be pretty old by now, since it has been about 40 years since he introduced the Kock pouch. I cannot imagine he would still be doing surgery. However, that said, I did find some fairly recent Kock pouch studies (within the last 5-10 years) from the univerisity hospital in Goteborgs, Sweden. Perhaps that is the "Kock" team?
Jan Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass. |

At the least he would be in his 90's.

Hello everybody, that you for sticking by me...I owe you all an update....Unfortunately my silence usually means bad news, as is the case now.
On the Saturday prior to my 2 week apt, my whole suture line "dehissed", meanning opened up due to collected fluids under the scar. I do not seem to be able to heal. on the Mon. after my wonderful apt with Dr. C, who believed that it would not cause too many problems, I started having difficulty intubating. 18 hours later I was rushed into the hospital to have the tube put back in under xray. I remained on strait drain and clear fluids for a week and then steped up to full fluids last week. I started leaking and prolapsing towards the end of last week. I saw Dr. C this morning who has confirmed that we must go back in and change the site altogether and either move up or over to the other side. My muscle wall is too weak and can't take it any more. I finally broke down and cried in his arms. I haven't stopped crying since. I go in on the 4th of Oct. They will consult with a plastic surgeon for alternate possibilities for skin closures and a drain. They will put in a pic line the day before. I have no idea how to get my body to start healing again. It seems to have shut down and is on strike. I will accept any and all advice from others among you who have experienced this problem too. It is my fault that we have to go in again...He wanted to do it the right way from the start but I insisted on giving it a try this way...I thought that it would be easier on me...I bet and lost Sharon |

Thanks Katie,
I am trying hard to see the bright side of it all but the only thing that I can think of is all the money that I am going to save on Slim Fast |
