Ok, another question!
My stoma protrudes. I know thats not really the norm for the k-pouch but it does. It protrudes a decent bit out and I'm a little concerned about it getting injured. I've been covering it with nursing pads and everytime I remove them to intubate there is always a little blood on the pad, like he's been squashed by my pants or something. I really don't care to use the AM patches because they're super sticky on the skin but I'm hoping for suggestions or comments about what, if anything I should do. thanks! -- katie |

Taping a thick[er] pad over your stoma is about all you can do. Has it been like this since the very first time you saw it, or just happen a couple of days ago? You may have a doctor look at it?
Good luck. |

Your stoma may still be in the 'adjustment stage'
It still may shrink a bit. That's what mine did. If it makes you feel better.. sometimes there is a little red on my pad and I think I've squished the stoma with my pants. I've never seen it harmed in any way. Kock 1979; end ileo 2003; Kock 2006 |
