Ok, I am planning on heading to Las Vegas with a few of my guy friends in late February. I expect to be out walking quite a bit as well as going in to some of the casinos. Taking my backpack with me everywhere would be a pain in the butt, not to mention a bit geeky. I have been thinking about buying one of those ankle strap things that supposedly holds all of your supplies. I am curious about flushing out the catheter though. How do any of you flush out your catheter when out in public? Or do you? I would be hesitant to walk into a public restroom and try and flush in the sink(not so sanitary). Using the toilet water from the flush sounds pretty gross. So how the heck do you address it if you dont have your normal funnel thing?

Put a small syringe and collapsable cup in your supplies bag too and fill it at the sink before going into the stall. You could also just take in a bottle of water into the rest room. I believe you could find a collapsable cup through tupperware or a kitchen gadget store in a mall. This is private and sanitary.

Have a good time in Vegas!!!!

I told the truth, I stood my ground...one against an International Corporation with money and power. I am proud I tried to right a wrong (an illegal wrong) done to me with such impossible odds. I appreciate the courageous attorney who stood beside me, believed in me and saw it through to the end.

I carry my backpack with me EVERYWHERE. People are so used to seeing me with it it's almost a part of me.
However, in these days of tight security it can be a pain having it checked when you go into crowded buildings.
You could put the cath and lube in your pocket and carry one of those water containers that hook onto your belt. Another option is a fanny pack (could be another geek item though).
It's hot in Vegas, stay hydrated.

Try a camping store, b/c i know i couldn't find a collapsable cup in any regular store.
but camping (or sporting goods stores) have lots of thigns that pack up pretty compactly.
and yes, i used a bulb syringe to flush it out (after havin filled some container with water before going in)
You can get one of those things they suck baby boogers out with? (blue bulb thingie). They're like $1.50 at any CVS or Target. and they're small.
Why don't you look into one of those 'man purses' (hehehe) which is basically like, a messenger bag?
I understand you though, i hate having to carry a purse or bag if i dont have to
(pre-kpouch i used to always try to pawn off my cell phone and/or cash and credit cards on my boyfriend to carry since he most always had pockets, whereas many of my outfits are sans-pockets. damn womens fashion Mad )

I was thinking messenger bag too. It's way more cool than a backback or fanny pack. Also, you might want to try out hotel lobbies in LV. I'm assuming there might not be as many people in areas away from the gambling. They have some might fine bathrooms in Las Vegas. Often when I was using them there wasn't another person around. We were there (with Bill J and rest of gang) in July as I recall. It was damn hot. I'd think there would be less people and less heat in late February. DAMN BRIAN and I were there in late December one year and all the fountains were frozen. So prepare for ungod/dessly hot or ungod/dessly cold and everything in between.

I'm glad you're thinking of your trip rather than dwelling on that other thing that shall not be mentioned because it's nothing at all and that's what they're going to find out when you take your little trip today and that's the way it will be!

I drink alot of coffee (or some grapejuice or eat grapes whatever makes you go more easier?)
then have your catheter in a plastic baggie in whatever you carry it in and if you can't rinse it out very well wrap it in TP and stick it back in the plastic baggie (sealed)until you get to your hotel room to clean it out good. Or I have in the past brought an older cath saved especially for these occasions so if I need to I have a spare and I can throw one away if necessary.
