The next ASCRS is in Hollywood, FL in May.
I am working on getting on the program to discuss continent ostomy options for all patients.Including a rotation for all colorectal surgeons to learn.
If anyone would be interested in joining or submitting their own plea so to speak I would like to hear from you.

Who is the person organizing the forums? My impression is that it is usually a doctor or groups of doctors...yes/no?

I have asked Dr Shore to see how one would go about getting on the program.
Perhaps he or one of the other K pouch surgeons who will attend would speak on behalf of their patients.
It would certainly be a good topic with so many CR surgeons in one place.
Stir up some interest with the younger surgeons.
We shall see.
