Hi! I have a consult with Dr. Beck in New Orleans on April 6th for Kock pouch. There are many post about other dr's and clinics, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with him or knows of anyone who has? Thank you!

Hi...no one has answered. I suggest you ask the surgeon for some patient referrals so you can speak with them directly. It's a great idea and then you can hopefully also have a kpouch buddy that may live nearby or has had this surgeon for support.

Met Dr Beck for a surgical consult about a year ago...from what I exerienced, I was impressed...very cordial, professional. He explained things, answered questions... I was told by many of the nurses, residents, etc, that Dr. Beck was one of the best surgeons there at Ochsner Clinic / Hospital...very convenient set up...hotel attached directly to the hospital building...Brent House...so, basically, very professional, seemed like he was was well versed in these types of surgeries.

Had surgery May 10th and love Dr Beck! He's been great, surgery went well and all is working! Started leaving cath out each day and am now up to 7 hrs and out at night. Only problem I'm having is the lower part of my incision has come apart and is taking a while to heal. I had the same problem with my colectomy, must just be using muscles that I don't need to when I get up.

Great news! bummer on the incision...I had the same prob with all my colorectal surgeries too - takes a while to heal.

Glad that you're doing great. Thanks for posting!

Glad that you had a good outcome with Dr Beck as your surgeon. IMO, Dr Beck is a knowledgeable , professional and skilled surgeon at these type of abdominal/gi type surgeries. Wishing that all continues to work out well for you.
