I'll keep this brief... I am looking for a doctor to retry J-pouch surgery or kock-pouch in Michigan. I currently have Michigan medicaid and just got turned down flat from the cleveland clinic.

I had a subtotal coloctemy and rectal removal last january at University of Toledo Med Center and a failed j-pouch construction at University of Michigan due to scar tissue in september. I am tired of dealing with a bag and also the ulcerative proctitis left in my 2" stump.

There are, no surprise, no one else I can consult with at those hospitals

Any help or leads is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The MI ostomy support group has information on the continent ostomy - you may want to send the contact person an email and hopefully they can refer you to a surgeon in MI.
